Jurong East is a place or town in Singapore, which is located in the western region, it is commonly said as Jurong Timur in Malay and in Tamil, it is said as Jurong Kilakku. Jurong East is managed by the south West Community Development Council and the total area of Jurong East is around 3.8 km square. There are two ways to access the town through public transport serviced by the Juron East MRT Station and the Juring East Bust interchange.

Amenities of Jurong East are useful to the people of Singapore. It has Jurong Regional Library, which was reopened after a major upgrading works on 25 July 2005, it is located in central and the library serves resident and students in Jurong East. The Science centre, Singapore, is a family oriented attraction in Jurong East and it is located near the central with walk able distance. The other nearby tourist places in Jurong east is Chinese Garden, Pandan Gardens, Teban Garden, Pandan Reservoir and Japanese Garden. The IMM Shopping mall is the majestic market it will be fully crowded with great deal of traffic at every weekends. And Jurong Entertainment center is and another shopping center in Jurong east is well known for indoor ice skating rink. International Business Park (IBP) is also located in Jurong East. Companies like Creative, Johnson & Johnson and JTC Corporation are located at the business park.

A new Jurong General Hospital is located within a walking distance from Jurong East MRT station it was supposed to be built by 2006 to replace the existing Alexandra Hospital. It contains 650 beds for warded patients and partner clinics with all types of consultancies for the outpatients. But in 2004 the plan was scrapped due to a new 500-bed hospital inyishun to be called khoo Teck Puat Hospital, and the plan was completed by 28th march 2009 under Singapore master plan 2008.

Later the Singapore government have decided to redevelop the town, The Urban Redevelopment Authority announces that the area around the Jurong East MRT Station to be developed into a commercial hub serving to the west region. The 750000 sq m of commercial space was divided to contain 500,000 sq m of office space and 250, 000 sq m of retail, food and beverage, and entertainment space. 2800 hotel rooms and 1000 homes were built in Juong Gateway.

There are some of the eligibility conditions that must be fulfilled by Singaporeans for them to purchase the new HDB flats.

1. The buyer must be a Singaporean citizen with a family nucleus and must also comprise of at least another permanent resident at Singapore.

2. To buy a 2-room flat, the buyer's gross monthly income must not exceed S$2,000.

3. To buy a 3-room flat, the buyer's gross monthly household income must not exceed S$3,000.

4. To buy a 4-room or bigger flat, the buyer's gross monthly household income must not exceed S$8,000.

5. If you are buying a flat with an extended family then your gross monthly household income must not be more than $12,000.
