While travelling through the line of West Coast one will have the feeling that there is an invisible line which separates the West Coast district into two parts. The east of West Coast is filled with green outfields, schools and residential area while the Western sides of West Coast have mostly industries and commercial outlet. The eastern side being the area of schools and residences it is very quiet and relaxed part of West Coast where as the western side is very noisy and busy 24/7 as it is industrial area of West Coast. The only common this between two sides is the sea which runs parallel to the road of West Coast district.
Like East Coast the West Coast is also a reclaimed land of 1970s. The East Coast district became a recreational hub whereas the West Coast is land of industries. West coast is mostly filled with private housings and HDB flats.
West Coast district has almost one of the biggest residential areas in it and almost 50% of its land is used for residential purpose. This district has every type of property for sale here like the HDB flats, executive condominiums, private hosing estate and landed property. The condominiums of West Coast are West Bay and Blue Horizon Condominium. These condominiums provide good view of the port and are comparatively less cheap than that of Eastern and Central Singapore.
The residents of West Coast go for shopping in the Ginga Plaza which is an old shopping complex with retail outlets, opposite to Ginga market there is West Coast’s market where one can fine good bone steek and mee goring.
As there are number of Japanese residents in West Coast so there are many Japanese international schools here.
There are tow major industrial zones in the West Coast district, the first one is close to is industrial area and is a port which looks after import-export business, here the new cars are being imported from overseas so there are number of ware houses in this area. The other industrial area of the West Coast district is Panda Loop area which looks after packaging and manufacturing works. There are also many electronic industries in this zone.
West Coast Park and Clemti Woods Park are the two major recreational parks of West Coast and it is visited by many tourists of other parts of Singapore.
West Coast Park has tow recreational areas in it and they are Area 1 and Area 3, in this park there are fitness center, bicycle obstacle course and BBQ pits.
Clementi Park is just opposite to West Coast’s residential area it is a cool hilly area and is idle for walking.
